BACK Ben's Aussie Sixer After wanting one of these cars for the best part of 10 years I bought my BMW 635CSi on Jan 17th 2006. I looked at a few cars of varying quality and age before deciding I was better off buying a car with as near perfect body as possible (no rust) and as many options fitted as possible, to make it as easy a car as possible to drive.
Car is an 1989 635CSi 4speed auto with sports leather seats and had only 138,000km when I bought it, and had only 2 previous owners. The last owner had it for 10 years and has done a pretty reasonable job looking after it - the auto's been rebuilt and the engine's had regular services. It's always been garaged so there's no rust and the leather's in very good condition for it's age - no splits or cracks. The paint's a bit faded when you look at it in bright light, but it's faded pretty evenly so I'm not too concerned with getting it repainted at this stage. It's a very original car - it even had it's original Eurovox AM/FM/Cassette deck!
The tyres & rims in some photos are the original 240/45VR415 TRXs which are very hard and were only on the car for show - it also came with a set of 225/60/R15 BBS rims with good tyres fitted, which look similar but without the red highlights and obviously the BMW badge! These are now on the car as the TRXs are such a shocking tyre.
I've since fixed/replaced the rear lower control arm bushes (car had passive rear-wheel steering!) and the accumulator for the self levelling suspension (I think I'll keep it for the time being), brake rotors and pads front and back as well as rebuilt the callipers.
