Skip bavauto try and source powerflex or even better the Moosehead engineering spherical bushings. You'll never mess with them again.

I am shapeshifter aka porschedude here. The car Mark has bought is my 89 635. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1509574-After-10-years-I-caught-another-Shark! It is a B35 with a 265/6 and still has the stock 3.91LSD. IMO, the 3.46LSD is the perfect compromise between acceleration a...

One final question - is there some mechanical logic to staggered wheels or is it purely an aesthetic thing. Personally, I can't see the difference but some one who knows said they stand out like canine testicles and picked the BMW had them straight away. Cheers Vinny Unless your car can overpower t...

Thank you! The rear is just Billie Sports and H&R springs. I think the rear pearch is set in the middle. I think there is a little illusion due to the 17x9 275/40 rear wheels. For me, this car is all about looks and comfort. So I tend to run meaty tires. Here is a pic of a standard 17x8 235/45 s...

Random pics of my '89

Here's a few random pics of my '89. It's been running great and a joy to drive since the manual swap and head rebuild I completed last summer. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l143/Smokiemon968/89%20BMW%20635CSI/9BD862BE-3A0E-4A72-B0B1-41346A2365D2-1573-000003673B71F6E5.jpg http://i95.photobucket.c...

I would take a higher mileage maintained car any day over a low mile garage ornament. Miles or not, time is also a killer. At 55k I would think the front end is also due for its first rebuild if it has not been done.

Based on your findings and giving the seller retail costs at a mechanic to repair, offer a real $3800 or so and work up to your comfort area.

If you can DIY everything (which seems like very easy stuff) you should come out ok in the end.

Or keep looking, it took me over a year to find my bargin.

Strange, I found the ride quality far better than it was once I installed H&R / Billie sports. In fact, I wish it had at least 10% more spring rate. You'll only rip the pan off if you don't know how to drive. [-X I've had 5 of these cars off and on over the last 20 years and lowered every one of...

If you were to buy a $4k car, you'd spend far more than that $8k to get it that nice.

This would be a good gear for a high power turbo.
Otherwise, the will be allot slower than it already is.
I'm sure you would see high 20's on a long highway trip.
Any stop and go traffic would kill any it though.
