Re: Info please

It isn't real, just a photoshop between an E24, an E46M and CSL.

Yeah, too rich for me too, which is why I thought if we could get 5 people together we may be able to get a reduced price and a single postage cost to the UK !

2016 Calendar

Saw on Facebook earlier that someone called Toshiyuki Hara in Japan has put together a 40th Aniversary calendar. Only problem is he is selling it on Amazon.co.jp. Not one to usually buy a calendar but that is a really nice looking piece. I don't know if any other UK owners would like one too? The pr...

John Player Special E24 - picture request

I know this is a little lazy, but I've been looking around online for a couple of years now and can only find 5-6 clear pictures. Does anyone have any more information and more detailed pictures of the JPS Class C cars? Specially with the wider arches. I've seen them numbered with 31, 41 and 44. Abs...

As it says. I saw an import this week with a unit and reminded me of how cool they are.

yes, obviously, but as I suggested previously ECP (and other independent suppliers) are usually cheaper again... (BTW you should search ECP's site by BMW part number or by using a proxy vehicle which uses the same part; their site no longer supports E24 very well.) If you walk into ECP and talk to ...

re the bushes; I'd suggest that you check the ones you have before deciding to replace the lot. They normally last for years, and decent standard replacements (eg from ECP) for most parts are not expensive. Also you need to be sure that the ARB bushes are the correct ones; I'm not sure they even ha...

the fuel system (esp tank) will almost certainly need cleaning out, and as part of this the fuel filter should be attended to. The brakes will now have contaminated fluid in them, so the fluid should be changed for fresh stuff. You may lose one of the cylinders anyway. A manual clutch will need to ...

I would honestly recommend getting a DA and get that paint in order. The single stage paint goes quickly once it starts to oxidize. You don't need to do too much since you're going to work on it, but at least the deck/horizontal surfaces. It would be a shame for you to finish your work and find it'...

Resurrecting the shark

I'm finally pulling my finger out over the summer and getting my E24 back on the road. It has been stood, exposed to the weather, for near 3 years now. What do people recommend need 'refreshing' before I bring it back. I was going to start with the obvious full service and perhaps the bushes. Engine...

WTB - Full front and rear suspension - UK

After having it up off the road for over 18 months, I am taking the reluctant decision to sell the E24. Money doesn't appear to be changing any time soon, I will try again in a years time when classic car insurance comes down for me. This means taking the air off (saving it for another vehicle) and ...

The bases go on, the reclining may be difficult. The structure of the seats is massively different. The headrests look to be a certain no-go, the width of the bars is significantly different, but could be adjusted to fit, however the thin sheet layout of the Recaro seat has nowhere to fit all the mo...

I can't weld myself, but I have contacts who can lend a hand for such tasks. I think I'm going to pick up a cheap set and remove the passenger seat to take a look. I just like the 'luxury', the added weight is a lot, but I just think it is pretty cool to have electric memory seats in a car that is s...

Swapping electric bases onto manual seats

My hunt for electric sports / recaros isn't come up well, and I'm slowly losing interest in the E24. I am thinking I may look into swapping over the bases from the comfort seats. Does anyone have any details on this? I have seen it done on E36 and E46s but the internet does not find much relating to...

More than welcome to drive down and do it. I don't have power to the car and I don't have the time to store it anymore. It's a shame but these things happen

Anything before the shell goes tomorrow..?

The shell of my old E24 goes tomorrow (but can postpone until Saturday at a push). I have a few pieces to list on eBay (shadow trim, mirrors, engine, etc), but the rest (exhaust, diff and parts) will be scrapped. Anyone want anything off it? Does anyone want me to save this exhaust? Tips / backbox a...
