Re: 1981 635csi E12 based standard shocks and springs

Thanks for taking the time to answer, I haven't been able to find any place that stock Boge shocks that fit my car and when I tried Shock Warehouse I got no results for 1981 635csi but as it's a US company I tried 1981 633csi it gave Bilstein B6 and KYB as options! I tried Bilstein UK website and B6...

1981 635csi E12 based standard shocks and springs

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find a definitive answer. At the risk of sounding like an old fart, I would like to replace the shocks and springs on my series 1 635csi as close to stock height and comfort as possible. Springs don't seem to be too hard to get but the OME Boge are...

Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals

I have 5 rear tail light assemblys (including the 2 on my car) and the chrome is poor on all of them. I wanted to do something to improve the appearance of the bezels and have now discovered that I can't remove any of the gaskets without destroying them! Several sites are still advertising 632113604...

1981 635csi coil to distributor lead

Hi everyone, I am having great difficulty getting a replacement ignition lead from the coil to distributor for my 1981 635csi! (the one I have is not OME and keeps popping off) I tried my local BMW dealer first but they told me all they could supply was the cable plugs and I'd have to assemble mysel...

Re: Battery drain issue solved!

Ah! That makes sense Brucey. Trust the series 1 to be different! I suppose later cars have extra equipment that takes a small charge all of the time, I'm just very pleased that my problem cost nothing and took about 10 minutes to fix! The fog light relay being in the on position all the time is a bi...

Battery drain issue solved!

I like to use my 6er as often as possible but with the bad weather it will either be on my drive for a few days or when the weather gets worse, stored in a lockup to protect it from the elements. Anyway, after not using it for 4 or 5 days a nice day came along and I was going to drive my 6er to work...

Re: E12 based 635csi power steering pump

OE No. : 32411114480 32411117615 32411123136 32411123148 32411123634
Applicable to : BMW(E21) / BMW(E24)
Year : 1975/06 - 1984/03

A bit of searching shows alternative part numbers. Years make sense but only interchangable with a 3 series? :-k not sure about that!

Re: E12 based 635csi power steering pump

Thanks Don, I'm not getting the option to reply to you via a PM or email (because I'm a newbie maybe?) I see you have the same model and year as myself so I'm sure you have already faced the same challenge getting the correct bits!! I'm from Perth by the way and bought the car from a nice bloke in S...

E12 based 635csi power steering pump

Hi! First time posting from a long time lurker! I have been able to find a lot of help from this site since buying my 1981 635csi in June 2016 (had a E28 for 5 years before that but the 6 series was always my dream car [-o< ) Anyway I have noticed having an early model can be a bit of a minefield wh...
