Self Leveling Rear Suspension Cycles Up and Down

Post by Kamps16 »

I am sorting a newly purchased 1989 E24 and discovered a rear suspension issue. When the car is running, the self leveling suspension continues to raise and lower. The pump kicks on at approximately 30 second intervals and goes back and forth between raising and lowering.
I have zero experience with this suspension and have been told by the PO that it was rebuilt.
If there is a fairly easy fix for this setup I'd be inclined to keep it. I prefer to keep my cars close to original.
There are no visible leaks and the pump seems to function fine.
Has anyone seen this before? Thanks in advance.
