Anyone on this board Have a lathe?

Post by TBM »

HI All,

It seems as if I've lost a strut with the rod ends (See attached)..rod ends broke when I took them apart on my M6 ITB's .

Its a Metric hex stock that can be replicated. BMW want BOOKOO bucks for it. Wonder if anyone can help out. I will of course send the Hex stock.

I can appreciate wanting to turn a new piece so it looks OEM, but an alternative is heim or ball ends with a new threaded rod. You can buy ready made pieces, if you know what size bolt end is required.

You can buy one end in normal thread, and the other in reverse thread, along with a dual thread shaft of correct length. Then just bolt things together and assemble.
