Bad Leak From Chain Tensioner Bolt Help with Removal

Post by Ozibimmer »

Hi Guys
I have a bad oil leak from my 635 coming from the Timing Tensioner Bolt.
Now I have been told once I remove the bolt I have to bleed the System to remove Air. Is this true?
I just need to take the bolt out to replace the alloy washer as that is where the leak is coming from.
Any advice would be great please.

Remove air? Nope, you can take that bolt right out. Be careful though since there is tension on that spring.

You can also wrap the bolt with teflon tape as extra preventive measure after replacing the alum washer.
