6 series wanted
I decided to sell my 1985 635 project. I am casually looking for a driver. I am not specific re: manual or automatic. I would prefer a car that presents well but has usual 30 + year old issues.
I would prefer to purchase in the spring but you never know. I am located in Des Moines, Iowa.
For me at least, I am not a "max performance" guy so year doesn't matter as much as upkeep and pride of ownership. I intend to only exercise the 6 about 1500 miles a year on nice days.
My budget is low. I sold my 85 for $300, had over $2200 in it.

Came into a little money and my budget is now $7500, depending on location. The car, if that nice, would require transport, which would cut into my now much higher budget.

Good luck Bryan.
That is a good amount to be able to afford a good runner. Decide in advance if you want to go Euro or US.

$9500 is too much for me. I could probably swing it, but being in Iowa, I will need to trasnport it. My 85 I brought up from Texas was $800 to ship.
I am not a performance guy re: reason to buy. I am OK with an automatic, US or Euro. I liked my 85 front air dam, not as hip on the non front spoiler cars. Not a deal killer.
Looking nationally on CL but it's a bit worrisome. Don't really want to buy sight unseen.

Considering selling mine in Spring but not listing it yet.
'78 USA E12 based 6'er brought mostly to Eurospec by enthusiast owner.
No rust original CA car - over 25 years owned - 100% garage kept - low mileage (104k) - Sunday driver only - never raced, crossed, schooled or abused.
Features:
Stripped and beautiful quality re-paint original Polaris Silver with subtle Mitch Kim pinstripe
Very good to excellent black leather interior. No dash cracks. 3-spoke Sport OEM BMW steering wheel + OEM 4-spoke + very good condition extra complete rear seat assembly w/all trim
Re-built engine with new cylinder head, mini-headers and new OEM muffler
Re-built Dogleg CR 5 speed with 3:07 and 3:25 Sideloader Diffs
Kormann Sport Suspension (lowering springs, adj sway bars, bushings, Bilsteins) Alu front strut brace
No slot-vent '85/'86 front chin spoiler with correct OEM fogs
Eurospec large rear spoiler + extra later smaller spoiler - both rubber refinished - not mounted.
16" BBS RA's with decent tires
Needs AC re-charge and a better radio.
Not an M635 or M6 but a definite Big Coupe head-turner if you like Silver on Black.
Current registration and clear title.

Before I go, you should go to 'Cars For Sale'. There's an L6 selling for $1000.
Good luck,,,,Greg
I have called on some cars over the years and when a person goes too low it creates an uncomfortable exchange. It's called lowballing. It's best to just pass and not create hard feelings.
In a nationwide Craigs List search I have found several 6'ers and am close on one. There is more then enough room to buy a couple, so I need to resist.
