Wheel locking nuts

Post by disqord »

Long story, car came with locking nuts, didn't come with keys. How to take off without going to a shop?

I'm sure you'll be able to get one locally . Measure head of lock nut first to ensure the ID fits .

I had just tried that, but unfortunately there is very little to no space between the nut and the wheel. I can barely fit a flathead in there.

Thanks guys!

Don't know if you have the clearance. I've heard this but not tried it. If you have a socket that hammers on real tight you have a chance to remove it.

Welding a nut on is a great idea. Rough the surface with a dremel or other fine grinder to remove the chrome and the nut should weld on great.

Thank you both; however I failed to mention an update. I found the key. It was in the glovebox. #-o

I was going to suggest a giant size screw removal bit. You know, the ones that you drill a hole in the center of the bolt and then drill in a reverse-threaded removal bit that grabs the bolt and spins it out?

That might take an industrial power drill, though.
