Interesting yes, but . . .

...under the hood it still shows the original royal blue (navy [-X ) paint, wonder where else you can still see the original color

HP numbers cited are inflated and incorrect [-X

No mention of ANY engine work performed, maintenance or otherwise :(

There's a bay area guy that repainted his Euro 635 in Estoril blue, and I have to admit that it looked great =D>

But he pulled the engine and did it right

I would have stayed with the original dark blue, IMO one of the best colors for an e24.

There are other that look good, but maybe I have a preference to the dark blue, the color just looks awesome!

Wow, lots of bs in that listing, and not a lot of meat about service history, the VIN, etc. $35k for a car with a semi-repaint is way crazy, too, and those mods are mostly negatives. Oh well, just makes the nice ones look that much nicer.

I want all technical information for how he was able to integrate the e30 M3 cam (a 4 cylinder motor) into the s38 which is a 6 cylinder motor. I AM IN AWE!!

Agreed, a lot of fluff.

As with any classic car, IMHO, keeping it as close to stock as original will be what helps it retain its value and make it more marketable when and if the time comes to resell it.

I wonder if he is talking about the cam gear modification that alters the valve timing/lift/duration?

Yes the cam wheel not cam.

I'm not sure the hp created by the cam wheel and chip but it wiuld certainly improve the hp a reasonable amount.

"To each, it's own" really is a thing, huh?
I honestly find this to be one of the more "meh" M-cars that I've seen.

Estoril is a nice enough color, but I'm not sure it suits the 24...
But again - To each, it's own!

Ralph it is a bolt in fit and a common upgrade. If you want more info on this check out this thread

Yeah - I didn't think it would be possible to integrate a 4 cylinder cam into an M30. Cam profiles, sprockets - yes - that I understand. Description says M3 cam was used for the motor.

And yes HP numbers are off since he was quoting M88 HP number of 282.
S38 is 256 HP so the "cam" upgrade produced an extra 40 HP. At the expense of low end torque!!

Keep it original to maintain value!!

I really like the color, not so much on the e24. As for the electronic do dads, I do not think that ever adds value to a vehicle, infact in this case detract from the bottom line. Not sure about the cam gear upgrade, but I think a well maintained stock engine is always going to hold its value over the" hopped up" engine. Guess I'm a boring square, I like genuine BMW. That car has alot of work put into it, Im sure the owner had fun doing it.
