VIN Decode to find build sheet

Post by hornetdriver »

Hi All,
I am a new member from down under, Australia.
I am trying to find the build sheet for my 635csi, RHD, Australian delivered.
I have looked at a number of sites but can only get basic information which does not include build options, interior colour, etc.
Does anyone have any links which will provide what I am after or can look it up. VIN is WBAEC620301887176.

Cheers,
Russsell.

Did you look for the Laufzettel?
This is a paper which they put under the back seat during production.
It contains some the information you are looking for.

I can only look up North America cars, you should be able to get your dealer to pull up the vehicle history report on the BMW internal site. it won't have much info for cars this old but it will have the birth options and color.

let me know if that works. I tried at the dealer, but I suspect that due to the age of our cars, the dealer can't really pull up anything.

Send me your vin. The dealer should be able to look it up but some are useless.

I did get my build sheet, obtained from my local dealer.
It detailed everything about the car including serial numbers for radio etc, and including security codes, key codes.
I was surprised at the detail included.
I obtained it from the parts department guy who had it pulled up within a minute of my enquiry.
This was in Melbourne, Australia so it may be different in the US.

The US one is slightly different.

That one is possible to pull, but requires software that only certain employees have access to.
