E24 Visit to Renaissance Classic Sports Cars Saturday 6th May

Post by JohnRogers »

RCSC started trading 1st April when they sold their first car.
MOST EXCITING. This business is owned by James Sohl and his family.
James has been an inspiration for E24 owners. He was a founder member of Bigcoupe and contributed a large number of postings. Unfortunately these were lost when the site was reconstructed a few years ago. When he was BMWCC Southern Coupe Secretary he organised many activities including our biggest UK E24 meeting – at Brooklands.
His business is specialising in Porsche and other high end brands. It is located at Ripley which is on the A3 next junction south from J10 of the M25. Post code is GU23 6HB
Their website is http://www.renaissance-classics.co.uk/

He will be pleased to be visited by E24 owners and we have arranged a meeting for
Saturday 6th May. I will circulate start time and other details shortly.

Everybody will of course be very welcome and several owners have already confirmed that they hope to come. If you are likely to be able to be there could you please let me know so that we have some awareness of numbers.

ALSO I have to comment that there never seems to be any E24 news.
So to get something back on to the road, I have decided to develop a BLOG. Please look at

https://jrogersm6.com/

This is intended to be a somewhat light hearted source for further stories about our cars.

Please let me know what you think about this. And if you sign up you can receive a message when there are new postings.

Regards, John Rogers

Once again John, your commitment to pulling together the UK E24 community should be applauded. Thank you for going to such lengths.

I have something in my diary already for May 6th, but I'm going to try very, very hard to get out of it and join you at this meet.

We have not yet set a time. Perhaps I might be there to start at 11.00.

I have asked James Sohl for lunch suggestions. I will post these nearer the date.

Just arrived is a very nice email from James............

John, I am looking forwards to Saturday. Will be loverly to see everyone.

I will be in from 09:30. I can take everybody through the stock and show them how we detail and prepare the cars.

Knowing the numbers allows me to prepare a parking area. If the numbers are small I can fit you in forecourt side. If more, then the rear area will work better.

No restrictions and just bring your cheque books if you want to discuss an acquisition.

We have potentially 100 cars coming on Sunday for a breakfast meet which should be fun too. KR James

Perhaps this is the time for us to start thinking about changing cars?

As much as I want to, I am simply unable to make this meet.
If any of those that do make it would be kind enough to post a few snaps, I for one would be grateful.

Sadly, I will be unable to make it. I was intending bringing the Turbo, but having only got it out of its winter storage today (the weather has been awful the past ten days), I can see that there are too many small jobs to finish in the time available. I hope the event goes well and I'll be watching this thread for reports/pictures!

Many thanks to James and his father. A really excellent day. Wonderful cars. I actually got to sit in a Testarossa and an original Shelby Mustang. Thank you everybody for coming. More images and stories to follow..........
