Bimmerheads M30B34 Head on M30B35 Block

Post by Rick Eickhoff »

Shant at Bimmerheads just sent me some pics of a new B34 head that will go on my B35 motor. He recommend going with the B34 head because the combustion chamber is 7cc smaller than the B35. Hence, it will increase the CR to 9.8:1. Where as the stock B35 CR is 9:1. He used the larger B35 intake valves, with the 284/280 cam - and ported it to fit the B35 intake manifold. Also recommended using 21.5 lb injectors. Will used a big bore throttle body, done by Bimmer Brothers and SuperSprint headers back exhaust system. Will use the AFM with a Dyslva EAT chip for the 179 DME.

The engine only has 87,000 miles on it so the bottom end should be good.

Will update you with finished results.

Just a quick update - new Bimmerheads b34 head is on and running strong. Pulls harder through the power band. Next stop - Kassel Performance for a few dyno runs and a tune.
