Best fastener removal tool (EVER).

Post by ron »

This is available from Aerospace tool suppliers. It has a 3/8" square drive at the end which accepts variety of bit holders/sockets etc. It fits into an air chisel/rivet gun.

I have used one for 30 years and have never had a removal failure.

You can control the twisting force unlike an impact gun!

Hey Ron, do you think there's any chance of the rusty self tappers (Philips head) surrendering to the beast? I must have one of the most securely secured Zender kits going. This is one of the good ones!

Scrape out the slots with a scriber and the tool should do the job. My garage guys have borrowed it today to remove the brake/fuel line mounting clip screws.

Like Ron says, scrape out as best you can and use plenty of WD40/penetrating oil of choice. I have sometimes had to resort to very accurate use of a Dremel and a small cutting wheel to make a slot for better purchase on some very corroded screw heads.
