I would like to hear more about how you refinished the interior, just cleaning or redyeing :-k

Looking forward to the finished product [-o<

Really, are they ever finished :-?
Thank you, I want to have car in perfect condition :)

About the interior.
The dashboard had 3 minor small cracks which were welded and then whole dashboard was painted in same colour.
All other parts were in great condition (also seats) so those parts were also painted in special colour for leather.
I let professionals do the job and the interior really looks like new.
Will see how long painted seats will last, otherwise I will redyeing everything

We did some small progress on it (Which took a lot of time).
Finished and checked all the fuel hoses (Over night 10l fuel escaped because we forgot one small hose on injector fuel rail)
Image

Then we finished vacuum (Will get new clamps and some hose on Monday) plus we installed oil catch can
Image

Got the OEM brand new dog leg shifter knob
Image

Also got this bracket brand new from the dealer for the gearbox
Image

Whoever said E24 paddle box is EOL and that the E28 paddle box will fit is wrong!
The E24 paddle box you can get brand new from the dealer and the E28 paddle box does not fit at all!
Image

Got some more parts for manual swap from the dealer and also new wiper motor (Not sure if mine is working, however I'm not gonna drive it when it will rain, just want that this will work)
Image

I connect cluster and hey, good news! It's getting power!!!
Image

Soon we will turn on the engine!

This is the ride height setup. It is really low but I believe I will rise it a little bit, we will see

Great work sir, out of curiosity what wheels and size are they that the car originally arrived on. Remotec?

Thank you!

I'm not sure about Remotec, they were in really bad shape so they were long time ago a pass for me.
Replaced it for BBS RC90 with 8J/9J setup.

Now we still don't know for sure why the car won't start. What I realised a few days ago and I really hope that this is the reason why won't start is because on ignition switch there are missing 3 wires. Not sure why but the car came like this to me.

The updates:
The pedals are now in
Image

Engine is completed, we just don't know for sure why won't start. It's like it is dead. It must be some electrical issue
Image

Stupid ignition switch. Someone did something to it and gave up I guess
Image

In the mean time when we wait for new ignition switch we put dashboard back in
Image

and finally some life in the car

First I thought this might be something with messed up ignition switch. Bought new one and it's still not working.

To eliminate some cables we started putting together dashboard
Image

Also got those beauties 8)
Image

In 2 days the car goes to car electronics guy and I hope he will sort out the problem. I gave up..

So the car now is cranking but that's all. Don't get the spark and fuel.
Electrician guy opened the engine wiring loom as there are some bad wires.. So he is replacing them now..

However we did some updates

First I put heat protection on the exhaust manifold
Image

And then I moved on to interior

We did some work from September, mainly we were looking why car didn't start.
First we thought that it was something with flywheel as it was the only custom non original Bmw part.. Then we discovered that it was pin for motronic on the flywheel which was too short.
We fixed that but still no luck
Image

After we realized that this ignition cap was broken (even though it was new)..
Still no luck with turning on the car.. We replaced new injectors, it sounded better, we change flywheel to single mass BMW oem one, again, sounded much better.. But no luck..

However my mechanic found out after 3 or 4 months that the module for code was faulty.. When he disconnected it the car finally turned on.. :-({|=

Now we are finishing chassis and then we move on to interior and engine bay..

Found the cruise control last week so we will retrofit that too :)

Is the lesson of the "lost" radiator to have everything shipped to you and then only give the body shop what is needed for the next step? I'd be worried that stuff would walk away...

I agree. I left only the parts which I thought I won't replace.. It was a good sign that the cooler got lost so I bought new one. Didn't want to but hey.. Since everything was new I didn't want that some old dirt from cooler get in the system :)

Big update, the chassis is done

The exhaust it is how it is, I will replace it later for custom one.
Also got cruise control and found power seats 8)

First I sourced power seats which I don't know when I will install them in the car.
Also next week Fedex will deliver original M635csi wing in really good condition

Then bmw dealer surprised me with M3 E30 dog leg shifter with lighting
Image

The engine is nearly finished
Image

Also the car is running now.

Chemical cleaning at car wash (didn't done it my self) and also seats were painted by professionals at the same car wash who is repairing leather.

Let's continue this :)

First the car got custom BBS RS with Radinox lips. 17inch wheels
Image

Then I upgraded all the speakers plus radio for Blaupunkt Retro. Love this radio!
Image

And then this happened.. The Diff fell off when I was driving. Luckily near home
Image

So I ordered custom new one. 3.15 40% ratio.
Image

And I did the rear drive shaft refurb
Image

More to come :)
