I'm working on a 1985 635CSi with power sport seats that have completely shot hinges, but are otherwise functional. And I have the opportunity to pick up two power comfort seats locally from a 1987 635CSi for $25 each -- but the leather is completely shot (like not even enough left to make a pattern) but the hinges are good.
Is it possible to use the 87 comfort hinges on 85 sport seats? The realoem diagrams appear to have the same part number, but I wanted to make sure before I made a big mess of 4 seats!
Quick Question: Are power sport and power comfort seat hinges the same?

If as you say the part #'s are the same they should work.
If they happen not to bolt up which I doubt, you could
always use the guts to rebuild what you have.

What part number are you using. I have taken apart sport and comfort seat hinges and I don't remember them being the same at all. Since the sport seat seat base is built into the the seat/hinge I'd be surprised if they were the same. But I've been wrong more than a few times on here and publicly humiliated ,
