Strange washer

Post by rrrs »

While replacing the battery I did a little cleanup and touch up paint around battery try area. In process I also removed temporary large bolt that holds bumper shock absorber to chassis rail. After all was done I found under the car a very large spring-washer that I can not figure out where it belongs.

ID is 25mm; could be that it was somewhere in engine compartment for a while....checked various Realoem diagrams but was not able to find something like this.

Could someone please help identify where this might belong?

Thanks!

I can’t think of a bolt anyway near that size on an E24. Maybe it isn’t off your car at all?

The bolts that hold the bumper shocks are pretty big. Im not sure if they use a spring washer though
