Halo LED lights

Thought I’d share my glass LED lights which are powered through by 12 volts triggered by a 9 volt surface mount relay from the original halogen lights. The relay coil and original running lights and headlights are in parallel. The LEDs need their own ground.

Hey Landshark,

Nice - what are these based on? I'm assuming they aren't custom for E24?

The visual problem I have with halo's such as these is that they are different from the original early halo's in that they are a complete circle whereas the original E39 halos are a broken circle with a missing 60 degree arc at the the top; these full circle halos just look a bit more 'surprised'.

Don't misunderstand me, I really do like halos as sidelights or day-running lights and I have them on my E39 as well as fitting a set to my pre-facelift E38 - and I often muse about getting a set for my my E34 and perhaps an E24 but I would want them to be the broken circle type I think.

5001 standards lights with halogen bulb in center but they have an extra pair of wires for the LED ring that require separate power source. Both leds are running in parallel, same ground . Available at a lot of websites.
