Dang it! How d'you do it???

Post by Masked Man »

Bfons or anyone,

I was just admiring the pictures MrE posted in the gallery section, (gorgeous stuff by the way) but my question is, how exactly does one post 19 pictures edge to edge with none of the usual 'frames' around them announcing their size and obviously limiting one to a total of 3 per post? I've tried dragging them from flickr, I've tried making them the size of postage stamps and now I'm jist frustrated!

Someone, anyone help me out here!?!?

Keeping the shiny side up w/difficulty

Phillip, I copy and paste the IMG code from my Photobucket a/c. I experimented a while ago on how many pics. I could actually post on here. I got to over 100 before I stopped, so I don't know what the limit is!!
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

Also photobucket will automatically resize them if you want a specific size:
The first thing you need to do to post a picture here, is to have that picture hosted on the web somewhere. You can not post a picture if it is located on your hard drive. There are many websites that offer free web hosting. Places like Cardomain, Villagephotos, etc. Here is a Google search for websites that offer free image hosting. Also keep in mind that many Internet suppliers offer up to 70 meg of free space along with your account.

Once you have the image hosted on the internet, you must obtain the exact URL for that picture. The easiest way to get the URL is to right click on the picture. This will bring up a menu. Click on ?Properties?. There will be a line that says: ?URL?. Highlight (place the cursor in front of the command, click and sweep over the command, let go) the entire URL, right click and ?Copy?. Now you have the URL of the picture. To verify this, you can right click and paste the URL into the address line of your browser. It should come up as a single image, with no buttons or clicky things. Just a single picture on a white background.

Now, you come to post a message. What you want to do, is click the ?Img? button directly above the message box. It will bring up a command like this: ?[img]?%20(without%20the%20quotes).%20You%20then%20place%20the%20cursor%20after%20the%20bracket,%20right%20click,%20and%20paste.%20Then%20click%20Img*%20at%20the%20top.%20This%20will%20insert%20a[/img] tag. There should be no spaces anywhere when you're done.

...hosted on a website, in order to load up a bunch :-?

If you are just copying photos from your hard drive or wherever, you are limited to 3 or 4

Hope all's well in SoCal 8)

wow- those instructions from "tschultz" still sound complicated. Is there a 123... easy version  , seriously.

Ron's post says it quite succinctly.

The only thing I'd add is regarding image size. Some photohosting websites automatically resize images (and its just a case of trying it since they all work differently)...

.... but if the picture is edited on your PC so that it is the size you want (in the editing software you are using) when the view scale is set to '100%' then its pretty much going to work OK regardless of site or download method.

hth

cheers

Ok, I hope this can be of help to people trying to post multiple pictures. For the purposes of this tutorial we will be hosting and posting a picture of big-time action movie superstar Bruce Willis from his early days on TV's Moonlighting co-starring Cybill Shepherd and a 635CSi. My picture hosting site is Photobucket.

Step 1:
Create a Photobucket account, click on 'Upload'.

Image

Step 2:
Click on 'Select photos and videos'.

Image

Step 3:
Navigate to wherever your picture is on your computer, and select the relevant picture(s). You can select more than one picture at a time.

Image

Step 4: Click on 'Open' and the pictures will upload from your computer to Photobucket.

Image

Step 5: Once your selected pictures have uploaded you will get the 'Upload complete' message. Click on 'View album'.

Image

Step 6: Thumbnails of your uploaded pictures will be displayed in your album. Below the thumbnail is an image code.

Image

Step 7: Copy the image code.

Image

Step 8: Paste the image code into your bigcoupe message.

Image

Step 9: Submit (or Preview) your bigcoupe message. Your pasted image code will be displayed as the picture you have hosted.

Image

Questions??

thanks Brucey for your input- Mr. E.- this tutorial was phenomenal and extremely easy to comprehend =D> ...nevertheless I felt like a third grader in Elementary school but works great on some our stubborn heads  !

Dear Admin- this write-up certainly qualifies to be redirected to The Tech. Information Page along with another right up currently in place since most image hosting programs should be about the same. Unless there is already a clear easy to read right up, this one will greatly assist B.C members post pictures and provide quality standardised photos aside from the limit of 4.
