1984, 633CSi, (w/auto trans) Engine Mount Type

Post by KINGJOHN808 »

Aloha all.

Can’t find a definitive answer. Have a 1984, 633csi, automatic transmission, US version, VIN #:6997368). My engine mounts that are installed currently are the “non-cylindrical” (almost impossible to find or on indefinite back order) type. However, according to REALOEM, they should be the rubber cylindrical type (appears to be easier to source). Also, what are the last four numbers used for with regards to REALOEM (see attachment).

Mine are all cracked to hell to include the metal portion that holds the rubber together. I only want to do this job once, but still not sure which ones are the correct type.

Other than composition, are the rubber cylindrical type and the rubber/steel non cylindrical type the same size/dimension. Has anyone used that particular type in lieu of the non cylindrical type?

Mahalo’z again in advance. Want to get these things ordered but too much confusion as to what type is correct versus available. Shipping to Hawaii ain’t cheap and returning in correct parts isn’t worth the trouble and hassle.

Aloha!

Well after multiple calls to Pelican, Turner, ECS, Autozone, Orielly, Advance Auto, Napa and 3 different BMW dealerships around the country, finally bought the mounts from EBay.

Part number I settled on came from REALOEM. It appears that “NO ONE” knows for sure what part “will and won’t” fit because they are all using the same internet search engines and diagrams. Some sites say it will fit or that the parts are interchangeable, while others state it won’t fit.

Either way, willing to roll the dice and see what happens when they get here. Part number is 11811175735.

Will advise once I get them here and get the old ones removed.
