Diagnostic Connector pins

Post by dks »

G'day

I'm trying to diagnose a no crank problem and wanted to look up the pins on the diagnostic connector to force a crank.
The VIN on my car says it is from 12/87 so I looked in the 88 ETM

And I found this diagram

Diag Connector (as per BMW).png
Diag Connector (as per BMW).png (116.19 KiB) Viewed 2181 times

But on my car the inner circle of connectors are clockwise in order

Diag Connector (my BMW) (2).png
Diag Connector (my BMW) (2).png (1.34 MiB) Viewed 2181 times

Connecting pin 11 to 14 does make the starter kick in as expected.

So, am I looking up the wrong ETM ? Or is the ETM not right ?

Many regards
Dave
