Dang, you bag her for the winter
Sux that you guys have to go through this, but much of the states also deals with "real" winter, Canada, I guess lots of other places in the world does as well
Driving our beloved 6ers is year round here in CA, provided it's not raining

Unfortunately, it's a cold and relatively damp winter here in the north of Scotland.
I've got a humidity meter in the garage. With the single skin, uninsulated construction, I'll regularly see readings of +90% relative humidity.
Been using the ''Permabag'' on the M6 for 30 years now, along with various other vehicles, and there's no doubt it has helped keep the dreaded moisture at bay.

Took it for a 20 mile drive. Trying to find all the hidden bugaboos so I can trust it more. So far one bad relay and couldn't get the headlights working. Found a lot of corrosion in the fuse box which I cleaned up and now have lights/ Modified M90 motor goes like a scalded cat!!

The cam is lumpy and I love it. Car really starts coming alive at about 2500RPM and It pulls like a freight train

Took her for the first “long distance” cruise (Ewa Kai to Kahala) about 65 miles round trip. She ran exceptionally well too. Met up with a couple of guys from the local BMW CC chapter and found out there are at least five E24’s on island.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
For quite a while I have threatened a cold air set up for my car. Finally got off my butt and did something about it.
K&N filter assembly I got online with some silicone transitions and silicone duct.
I sacrificed a high beam lamp. Stone guards are tough to find in the colonies. Ordered a couple from a an outfit in GB.
Unfortunately the little bit of data logging I did yesterday didn't show too much lower intake temps. At least it looks like it should help. The wiring in the area behind the grill there got fresh Tessa tape while I was in there. Boy is that corner busy with this, intercooler piping and AC lines. Pulling the turn signal is really tough.Ross

Glorious sunny day here in Surrey so the M635 got a run out to the gym on the other side of Guildford. AC working well and all windows and sunroof opened and shut as I don't want them to seize due to lack of use. Fabulous engine and fabulous looking as always.

Dang, the M-tech II wheel looks great with the 3 Motorsport bands, I heard that they don't fit correctly at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions, but I like it

Second one I’ve done…
The wheel is a version I, it will replace airbag wheel in M6.
The bands will fit nicely with some careful bending and pressed into place with thin line of SuperGlue to afix.
Biggest challenge is to bend the bands to fit without the paint flaking…
Try it you’ll like the look from the driver’s seat.

I replaced my airbag with this steering wheel also.
Where did you get the bands?
Are they available OE?
Love the more pronounced ///M look

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
I took my 635Csi in for its bi-annual Smog Test yesterday. Visited the Smog Guys (near BMW Concord) for the first time. I was in and out within 20 minutes and everything passed. My car has never failed Smog (knock on wood). Here are the emission test results:
HC (PPM) (15mph & 25mph)
MAX = 122 and 97. AVG = 31 and 22
MEAS = 37 and 21
CO (%) (15 and 25 mph)
MAX = 0.77 and 0.57. AVG = 0.11 and 0.10
MEAS = 0.21 and 0.23
NO (PPM) (15 and 25 mph)
MAX = 1081 and 911. AVE = 373 and 317
MEAS = 409 and 424
Anything here to be concerned about? At my last service, my mechanic said the cat was looking kind of ragged (he fixed some cracks in it about 10 years ago).

Bypassed the heater core valve. Had a massive amount of heat pouring into the cabin, drivers side. A/C is performing way better here in Hawaiian heat.
