‘85 M635 Lowering Options

Post by Kuch569 »

Any advice on how to lower approximately 1” front and rear? I want to keep the car as stock as possible so perhaps there are replacement springs I can swap in. Thanks for any tips.

I have Ireland Engineering sport springs installed on my ‘85 euro 635csi. You can purchase them here: https://www.iemotorsport.com/product/sp ... s-e28-e24/.

They drop the car 1 inch F/R. Here is a photo:

Turner Motorsports sells Bavarian Auto's Red Lowering Springs for $216 (for the set), and I recommend them. They lower the car about 1.25" and the ride is fantastic, not bouncy or overly firm. I heard that the H&Rs are really good as well, they typically retail for $260. Either way I recommend replacing your struts as well with B8s. Nice car BTW.

Here is my car with the Bavarian Auto Lowering Springs:

Thanks for those suggestions. I’ve already replaced with B8s and should have done springs at that time. Those both look like what I’m looking for. Nothing too low with good ride quality.
