Found this listing on Hemmings. Located in Marin County. Checked the BMW database which shows "326 9289" as the last BMW built which matches the certificate in the ad. Looks like it has the original TRX wheels and, according to the seller, is in excellent condition with regular service.

Re: The Last E24
We discussed this E24 back in early 2016. It was up for $23,000 or best offer. I wonder how much it fetched? Currently up for just shy of $40,000 which I reckon is very reasonable! Read the thread - it's interesting

Interesting indeed.
Still none of the cars in that thread match the serial number from the Archive photo.
Maybe it's a USA thing where other countries don't count, like "Miss Universe" or "World Series"

Re: The Last E24
I think that number is most likely to be the actual number of E24s produced as far as the factory was aware, at that time. They had only just stopped making them! The generally accepted figure is 86,216 - but it is entirely likely that the number was mis-stated as that last car came off the production line. There were many variations of the E24 over the 13 or so years that they were manufactured - and the number only differs by 103 units. In the fullness of time I think historians have just cleaned up the records

Well, the plot thickens
This gal from the Sacramento area claims to have the last 6er made
We've met her a few times at Legends of the Autobahn and has told us her story, but as you can read (sorta) that she has not been able to substantiate her claim
Will we ever know

Shame she didn't share her serial number so us keyboard sleuths could continue to debate and entertain ourselvesGRNSHRK wrote: ↑Sat Sep 17, 2022 6:27 pm Well, the plot thickens
