Pops is gone, his 528e is gone, but that car rocked 14s. Still does to this day with the new owner on 14 inch meshies. I won't go past 16s for anything I drive (cept the pickup )

Pic of fuel pump wires for single pump application. Pump terminals and wire lugs are sized to prevent wrong connections. But connectimg wrong will just make the pump run backwards and likely burn out

I should have paid better attention. You described a 314 121 relay. Your picture shows the correct relay? I have three untested on hand and somewhere a box of 10 or so. Send a PM and we can discuss

AC box should be directly in front of you and fully exposed. Take apart freon lines and take good pictures of electrical connections. The box needs to elevate to clear the plastic drain nipple at the bottom. That's the difficult part

Do the major cleaning while in place. It's sealed so you won't contaminate internals.

A piece of foam was used to make the spring action in the button. Simply cut into a wedge form and inserted between the button and the handle Ralph So is the suggestion that the piece of foam may well have deteriorated or even fallen out? And that putting in a new or extra piece would most likely w...

Re: Yikes! Looks Like I need a New Expansion Valve
Unfortunately the dash needs to come apart for access to the expansion valve. There was a hack of cutting the housing to gain access but many have unfortunately pierced the evap coil during the process. Best to just suck it up and do it the right way. The e24/28 evaporator coil is separated into 3 d...

Re: Radiator Fan Switch Wiring Question Plus Fan Blade Question
Some have found ways with a 2 sensor arrangement as in the earlier cars. I think it was wiring in the high speed circuit to the low temp sensor. Not something I've done so I can't provide more. You can probably accomplish that easily though Working on my e12 system currently that has one sensor but ...

Re: Radiator Fan Switch Wiring Question Plus Fan Blade Question
You are correct about the aux fan activation by turning on the AC while ignition is in on position. +12V signal comes from the same wire that feeds the ac compressor clutch. Follow that wire and make sure it's connected properly right next to the radiator. That wire goes to the aux fan relay to acti...

Test the switch by immersing in hot water of known temp. The switch should have its temp rating somewhere on the side

I suggest you drive the car then pull a front wheel after a hundred miles or so. The strut will have scuff marks if there is contact during use

Early cars had the reverse light wiring enter the cabin through the pedal set. There is a 2 wire connector under the dash. Check that connection. A later car would have a connector at the shifter

Soak in hot water.also. The soda and coffee spilled are more soluble in hot water than alcohol. And yes spray with lubricating contact cleaner after they dry out.

I should have read your post more thoroughly. The rear windows usually have the tool (or similar facsimile) as part of the mechanism. Remove the small round cover and look at what's there. Cam seal is easily visible and accessible with everything out. You may be able to pull it out with your finger as it's not extremely tight fit

Re: Replacing distributor cap, rotor and cover ?!
#1 - there is a locating pin on the adapter to make sure it goes back on the correct position. The Allen bolt is torqued to the camshaft so it will be very tight. Hopefully not installed with loctite. There is a copper washer on the bolt to seal it from oil. It's a good time to replace the camshaft ...
