Glad you got them in.... Yes, your door will be quite tough to close for a while... Mine has been as well but it getting better.
I am still curious if the guys that installed them slid them in or snapped them in as I described. Might be me but that was not clear in your post.

Re: Air direction levers.
My shark has one of the plastic lever ends broken off the air direct level. What is the solution for repair? Can I disassemble the unit and replace just the lever? Thanks for any information on this task. Are you talking about the 3 horizontal sliders in the center dash? If so, the plastic end is j...

Re: Electrically actuated Fresh air vent. Control module Fix
Thanks for the detailed information, this will be very useful for others following down the same path. Thank you also for including part numbers! Very helpful. I have my lower dash pulled apart at the moment, in preparation for an A/C overhaul to R134a. I'll try and get some time to check if I have...

Re: Electrically actuated Fresh air vent. Control module Fix
UPDATE: The repair was a success... The fresh air vent is now functional. As I suspected, when you select AC on, the system closes the fresh air door no matter what position the slider is in. This appears to be the reason they went with an electric servo vs the bowden cable. There is one aspect of t...

Re: Can anyone identify the brand of these wheels?
That's not a logo of the brand. JWL (Japan Light Alloy Wheel) "JWL" (Japan Light Wheel Alloy) is a compilation of standards defined by the Japanese Government to ensure the vehicle's safety for aluminum road wheels. Every wheel put to market must be tested to meet JWL standards before a w...

Can anyone identify the brand of these wheels?
They were originally gold basketweaves. On an 83 euro 635csi. I need center caps for them. The hole is about 75 MM. Pic of the logo on them.

Electrically actuated Fresh air vent. Control module Fix
Hey everyone, I just wanted to put this here for posterity. I have been banging my head against the wall on the electric servo actuated fresh air vent. This is controlled by the middle lever in the center AC controls. On pre 86 models the lever was moved mechanically. 86 and after there was at least...

Re: e24 window mod, still around?
DLvad, thanks for the references... I really do remember someone long ago on another board successfully doing this mod. I cant remember the name of the board and I think that BMW board is lost to history at this point. I do not think I am savvy enough to come up with a solution on my own... I just k...

Re: Rear plate mounting on early Euro car
I cut my plate....
I did get a little grief for doing so from a cop once... but no ticket and I just explained that it was a European car and a regular plate wont fit... and also that all the info was there.
So I have kept it that way.

e24 window mod, still around?
Hey everyone, I remember a window mod that someone did long ago... Basically it lowered the front windows about 1 inch whenever the doors were opened... this was to let the window tuck up into the trim, as it tends to hang on the outiside if the door is closed with the window all the way up. Does an...

I was there on a trip and went to the aquarium to see the things.... I was in line and saw a big line of Sharks make the left sweeping turn past the crowd I was in... My eyes lit up and I gave you all a big thumbs up! Good looking cars!

Re: Unknown wire in Left front wheel well.
What year? The pad wear sensor opens when it wears on the rotor due to worn pads. Two wires on my '84. Twisting them together shuts off the light in my case. I've never looked at a later ETM but maybe a third wire is a shield, seems unlikely to me though. it is an 86' The third wire is definitely n...

Re: Unknown wire in Left front wheel well.
I need some more help here guys.... However the cut wire has 3. One of them is a ground wire. Since both are cut I have no ...

What happened? Did you sell it? Still gearing up to sell... I still cant seem to get over wanting it to be perfect. I fixed the rear sun shade which was not retracting. It works now. Also, the electronically controlled fresh air vent was not working. I know the motor was bad and replaced it... but ...

Re: Sea Foam Oil and Injector cleaning
Anyone have any experience using Sea Foam in their oil prior to an oil change? Or cleaning the injectors? I dump a can of it into the hot oil and drive for 20-30 min then change the oil. It thins it out a bit and lets more drain as well as does a little cleaning... probably minimal benefit but I li...
