I have a quick update of interest to those of us retrofitting our AC systems. I just refilled my Saturn with some computer dusting spray made from 1-1, diflouroethane (HFC-152a). It is super cost effective, and almost as efficient as R134A.

The brand I bought is Ultra Duster. THE important thing is that it is made from diflouroethane.

You will also need a can sidetap to connect up to your manifold.

Reviving an older thread with a question about upgraded Air Con condenser sizes please.

Unfortunately I can't find any 16" High x 19" Wide PF condensers available in Australia.
(Please link me if you find any!)

The closest fitments I can find are:
16Hx18W - [RetroSpares.com.au]
17Hx19W - [RetroSpares.com.au]

My questions are:

* Will a 16" high condenser be a better fit than a 17", allowing for the upper & lower brackets?
* Will a 17" high condenser cause issues with upper/lower bracket fitment? i.e. Will it be too big?

Thanks in advance.

On my 86, that 17x19 would fit.
(That price, if it equates at all to USD, is crazy though!)

Finally found one for a reasonable price, shipped to Australia!
Arrived today.

19x16" UAC 20015XC Universal Parallel Flow Condenser.
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0100721JA

The Amazon product dimensions are wrong.

Actual dimension are:
490mm (19.2") bracket width, from one edge to the other.
500mm (19.68") overall width, from edge of bracket to pipe thread.
405mm (15.94") overall height, from top to bottom brackets edges.

Does not include any mounting bracket hardware other than what is fixed to the unit.

Another step closer to my A/C system rebuild :)

Hi,

I'm only starting to research my own car...Where did you get that full A/C diagram from? I'd be very interested in getting a link with ideally, all the part numbers corresponding to the numbers so I know what to order :)
Thanks!

Been building up a new life in Southern California these past couple years, but looking to get back on the BigCoupe horse this summer. Figured I'd start posting again.

I recall I pulled the diagram from RealOEM.com. You can do all your parts lookups there.

Hey! It's been a minute. You used to be in the Napa region right? I hope your move wasn't wild fire related.
Let me pile on and say it's good to hear from you again. It's good to get a part of the gang back.
