Routing wires from the engine bay into the cabin...

Post by RetroNino »

Greetings, everyone!

I've tried searching the forums and Googling the issue, but have had no luck:

I'm searching for a way to route some wiring from the engine bay into the cabin (middle compartment where the radio / AC unit is.
My first bet was following the fusebox harness to the bottom of the windshield, but the grommet seems to have been sealed with resin.

Are there any other options for routing wiring to the interior that I could use? - advice with pictures would be most appreciated.

Best regards, Nino

Best going through drivers side and across to middle.
Poke hole in grommet, then seal with silicone.

If your car is an auto, there should be 2 unused holes for the clutch lines next to the pedals. Good luck

I appreciate the suggestions. My car is unfortunately (just kidding) a manual, but I will definitely first check by the pedals.

Seems easily accessible and should be able to cram a few thin wires through I think.

I'm installing an interior voltage, oil temparature and pressure, and coolant temparature multimeter, so I have to get to the engine...

Some pics of the "in-progress" look - quite like it!

Here's how I routed wiring from the engine bay into the cabin (the 2 blue ones), hard to see but there's plenty of places to sneak a couple of wires through :-"

And here's the entire story of my gauge install \:D/
