Fuel accumulator 79 E24 euro M90

Post by bobng »

I have a 79 Euro 635 with an M90 engine. The fuel accumulator with bracket part no 16121120970 does not seem to be available. I have checked with a few dealers and parts suppliers and no one can get the part. This is the tank below the fuel pump before the fuel filter that holds pressurized fuel. My question is what happens if the tank is bypassed, or can I replace it with a tank from another Bosch L-Jet motor such as the Porsche 914? Thanks, Bob.

I have spoken with ECS, and Pelican, part is not available. I also spoke with two BMW parts departments, part is not available. I have not spoken to Walloth and Nesh, but have reached out to them. Again, if anyone knows the consequence of leaving the part out, I would appreciate the input. If its only purpose is for cold start, then it should be ok to eliminate it. Of course, I could try it, but thought I would reach out to the group to see if anyone has been down this path before. Thanks again, Bob
